올해로 5년차 지휘를 맡은 김현 지휘자는 지난 팬데믹 기간동안 Zoom 연습에 꾸준히 참여해 준 많은 단원들의 협조가 무엇보다 힘이 되었으며, 그 연습의 결과를 이제 실전으로 나타내기 위한 대면연습에 더 많은 분들이 참여해 주셔서 오는 6월 24일 San Mateo Perfoming Art Center에서 정기 연주회를 갖게 됨을 기쁘게 생각하며 뜻깊은 연주회가 될 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

Music Director 김현
Hyun Kim, music director and CEO of Silicon Valley
Philharmonic, was born in Seoul, Korea. He received B.M.
in composition at ChongShin University where he started
his conducting career. He studied orchestral conducting
with Dr. Jaedong Jung and Professor Nosang Geum at
ChungAng University in Korea. He performed many concerts
as a music director and conductor with various music
organizations including Ilsan Youth Symphony Orchestra
and Kwachon Youth Symphony.
In 1993, he was chosen to conduct the Festival Ensemble
in Seoul Contemporary Music Festival by Seoul Music
Association. In the United States, he studied composition
and conducting at Sonoma State University with Dr. Brian
S. Wilson. He founded Silicon Valley Youth Symphony in
2008 and San Francisco Korean Symphony & Chorus in
2009 and has been proudly leading them, also as a local
musician, he has conducted several classical music groups
in the bay area.
Pianist 원아정
Ajung Won / Pianist
Ajung Won received her Bachelor and Master of Music in Piano Performance and Piano Accompanying at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Mack McCray and Timothy Bach. She was
a first place winner at the 1992 Young Artist Beethoven Competition, where she performed in a master
class with Garrick Ohlson, and as a prize, appeared on Grand Piano.
With over 30 years of experience in teaching and accompanying, she’s actively accompanying various
groups of performers, private studios, and choirs in the Bay Area which included Cupertino High School Choir where she was the pianist for last 9 years. Her solo performances include Beethoven’s Chorale
Fantasy with SF Master Chorale and SF Korean Symphony at Herbst Theater in 2009 and Grieg Piano
Concerto with Silicon Valley Philharmonic at Mission Santa Clara in May of 2014.

Ecclesia 라는 이름으로 시작한 매스터 코랄은 선교적 사명과 불우한 이웃을 돌보고 한인동포들의 문화적 갈증을 충족시켜 온 SF매스터코랄은 지방의 소규모 한인교회들을 방문하여 성가를 들려주었고, 자선콘서트를 개최하여 수익금 전액을 당시 지진피해를 당한 아이티에 보내기도 했다.
샌프란시스코 매스터코랄(San Francisco Master Chorale)은 지난 2019년에 창단 30주년 정기연주회를 대성황리에 개최하면서 지역 교민들의 뜨거운 격려와 호응에 힘입어 팬데믹 기간 중에도 줌을 통한 연습을 게을리 하지 않으므로 지난해에는 창단 30주년 책자 발간 기념 연주회와 10월에는 크로스 선교 찬양의 밤을 통해 지역교민들과 교감을 나눌 수가 있었습니다.
